The Bassmaster Elite Series is the highest level of professional bass fishing tournaments, and for the first time in its history the pro anglers will be competing in South Dakota on Lake Oahe June 29th through July 2 of 2018. KXLG’s Katie Hansen visited with the number one star of the fishing world, Kevin Van Dam. Kevin said that the economic impact on South Dakota will be felt before, during and years after the tournament.
Kevin Van Dam has never fished a body of water or hunted in South Dakota and is excited to finally get to..
There will be days and days of pre fishing for not only Kevin Van Dam, but everyone else in the BassMaster series, but if you are an area guide or bait store owner, don’t plan on them asking if famous question “WHERE’S the fish biting?”
Kevin predicts that since the Missouri River doesn’t have a lot of pressure for small mouth fishing that we should be prepared to see some huge limits, and will be a game changer for the area.
You can almost bet that the field of competitive anglers will be trying the latest and greatest lures out there, and now days you can watch your favorite angler as the compete.
Katie’s full interview with Kevin Van Dam will be aired on Saturday morning at 7:10, AND will be posted on mykxlg.com
