Watertown Mayor Sarah Caron is keenly aware that Watertown downtown businesses don’t like paying an additional tax to fund upkeep and flowers in the downtown area but that the pot of money that was used to pay for it is running short.

She said it comes down to where the money will come from: (dl 89)

She said there was some confusion about the dollars from the tax being used to cover the expense of the flowers along highway 81.  That, she said, isn’t the case.

She says if the tax isn’t reinstated or redirected they will have to find the dollars elsewhere or not have the flowers. On another topic the mayor said she is having some success attracting volunteers to serve on her three  “One-Hundred Days” Initiative committees.
