South Dakota Republican Congressional Candidate Dusty Johnson has some thoughts about the recent tax bill that was approved and signed by the President, and specifically the section repealing the individual mandate in Obama Care.
Johnson says there has to be a better way using financial tools to manage health care.
The former South Dakota PUC commissioner and Chief Of Staff to Governor Daugaard questions what people are fearful of.
Johnson said this is not, “pie in the sky” and that change has been done before. He cited welfare reform that changed the one-size-fits-all Aid to Dependent Families national plan with a custom plan designed by former Governors Janklow in South Dakota and Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin.
Johnson asks, “if state innovated ideas worked in the past then why are we so scared to make healthcare changes now and give it a try?” He maintains what we have now is not working.
