Watertown, SD — Former Governor Frank Farrar was the guest speaker yesterday afternoon for the Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation’s Living Limitless Event at the Watertown Event Center. Farrar, who served as South Dakota Attorney General from1963 to 1969 and as South Dakota’s 24th Governor from 1969 to 1971 was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1992 and given just two months to live. Despite the diagnosis he continued competing in triathlons, even during chemotherapy. His cancer went into remission at the time and here he is today at age 88 still running, biking and swimming in ironman events, including here at Watertown. His topic last night is the endless “Rewards Of Living A Health Lifestyle.” We sat down with him before the event and he shared his thoughts on a long life and other things.
