Watertown, SD — The local June primary races appear to be shaping up with the latest announcement coming from former Watertown City Alderman Mike Christians who has announced he’s seeking the District 3 County Commissioner seat currently held by Commission Chairman Myron Johnson, who also has announced he’s running again. In a prepared statement Christians says the leadership of Commission Johnson is the tail wagging the dog and that Johnson has failed to listen to the voters after the first justice center vote. Bill Thovson has also indicated he plans to run for the District Three commission seat. All three are republican candidates. There will also be a two-way race for sheriff in Codington County with two Republican candidates. They include the incumbent Brad Howell and Watertown Police Officer Chad Stahl.
