John Mogen who heads up the South Dakota Rock and Roll Music Association, and whose group Mogen’s Heros will be inducted this weekend, says plans are moving ahead with The South Dakota Rock And Roll Music  Association’s induction ceremony in Sioux Falls.  He says, despite the winter storm that’s predicted to move through the state later tomorrow, that rescheduling the event would be a nightmare.

Mogen says he doesn’t want those coming from afar to travel in bad weather, but that most of the bands and individuals who are being inducted and who are playing have already arrived or will be arriving later today in Sioux Falls.  He says the jam session will launch the weekend with music Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall.

He says 24 former members of the Festival Band alone plan to attend this weekend.  The jam session Friday night is free, although a free-will offering will be taken.  One of the top national bands being inducted this year are the Young Raiders who are already in Sioux Falls preparing for the Saturday night event.  Tickets are still on sale at Lewis Drug and on line at the South Dakota Rock And Roll Association webpage.
