A One vehicle crash at 444th Avenue, in Florence 12:15 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 has severely injured a Florence woman. The Department of Public Safety says that Amanda Hagen age 33 of Florence was the driver of a vehicle who sustained life threatening injuries in the accident. She was transferred by ambulance to Watertown hospital and later air lifted to Sioux Falls. She was not wearing a seatbelt and charges are pending. She was driving a 91 Mercury Capri. Other passengers in the car included a 30 year old male and a 20 year old male neither who were wearing seatbelts. Both of those individuals taken by private vehicle to Prairie Lakes Hospital. Authorities says her vehicle was northbound on 444th Avenue in Florence when it veered beyond a road closed sign and entered a location where the road had been removed. The vehicle went off a 1.5 foot drop with the front of the vehicle hitting a 1.5 high foot concrete rise. The investigation was conducted by the Highway Patrol participating with help from the Codington County Sheriff’s Office, Florence Fire Department, Watertown Fire ambulance and SD Game, Fish and Parks.
